In internet marketing terms conversion rate optimisation or CRO is a method of creating an experience for a web page visitor with the sole aim of increasing the percentage of visitors that convert into customers.

Your conversion rate is: (your goal / number of visitors ) *100

Your Goal is generally sales, leads or downloads etc.

In the above example we see 100 sales from 2,000 website visitors, giving us a conversion rate of 5%.
